Poinsettia – free pattern

Tag: Free Patterns,Shop NewsCarol Britt @ 11:00 am

This looks like Christmas Packages just ready to be torn into!

This is a free pattern by Cheryl Malkowski and Timeless Treasures’ Tonga Batiks.

There is a kit for this quilt and we have all the batiks separately.  Well, some may be on backorder waiting for our second shipment.

The quilt features Tonga Holiday Batik and some really gorgeous ones!

Check out the white batik!

The leaf design batik is my favorite.

I love that they are batiked and then overprinted in metal.

And of course I haven’t met a red I didn’t like!

The green leaf has just enough pucker power to not be boring!

The batik with metal are an extra value because you can use either side:  with metal or without.

So you get two fabrics for the price of one!

Give Away is almost here!

Tag: Block of Month,Free Patterns,Garden & FlowersCarol Britt @ 11:01 am

Two more days before we draw four lucky winners of a Girl in the Garden pattern by Pat Sloan and Bigfork Bay Cotton Company.

We love these designs in batik and will kit just as they were made.  We are waiting for a couple more bolts to arrive.  The kits should ship mid March.

Want them all?  Sign up for our Wall hanging of the Month starting in April and get one kit a month for four months.  Sign up here.

Make a comment on this blog to be entered in the pattern give away.

Your responses have been so much fun.  So here’s a new question:

What is the most unusual flower in your garden?

Mine would have to be the Seven Sons tree.

It blooms in late August into September and has a delightful fragrance.

The pink flowers become fuchsia and a berry forms at the center that is a shiny purple.

Very interesting.

Batiks Etcetera’s Blog Today’s Question:  Gardens have color themes.

What is your favorite?  Real or Imaginary?

I like when my garden is a riot of purple and yellow.

It hits that combination in the Spring with Iris and late Daffodils.

Then in summer with Russian Sage, yarrow, and black eyed Susan.

In the fall the asters, butterfly verbena, and mums supply the color combo.

Enter a comment at the four other participating shops.

We are all different and offer great products.

Check out everybody.

New Bali Pops!

Tag: Batik Cotton,Free Patterns,Hoffman Batik,Shop NewsCarol Britt @ 12:22 pm

The new Hoffman Batik Bali Pops are here and they are gorgeous!

The Bali Pops are Watermelon, Key Lime, Cherry, Plum Pudding, Blueberry, and Coconut.

Click on any picture to go to our website for more info and to order.

There are free patterns using many of these and I will start by posting two of them here.  They are shown on our website Batik Etcetera under Free Patterns shown on the home page.

The first free pattern is Watermelon Shuffle by Marian Mapes and is 56″ x 66″.  We offer a kit for this quilt exactly as pictured.  I love this one and it would be pretty in any of the Bali Pops.  Consider different background colors for different effects.  Pale pink?  Light lime?

The second free pattern is Bali Love Song by Elisa Wilson using the Cherry Bali Pop.  It is 56″ x 56″ and has a great border.  We offer a kit for this quilt exactly as pictured.  Lovely!
