Here’s a map of the area involved in the Quilt Shop Rally.  It will be beautiful in May.  Lots blooming in the mountains.

Join us for the annual Quilt Shop Rally through southwest, soutside, and central Virginia.  There are six fantastic shop with lots of different fun fabrics, projects, and displays.

Buy a pack of 2.5″ strips at each shop and end the Rally with a full spectrum jelly roll.  Each shop will have free directions for their jelly roll project using these strips.  Six FREE original jelly roll patterns!  Perfect!

This is a FREE pattern called Fire Island on the Benartex Fabrics site.

It is 45″ square and uses their new line of Tuscan Garden Batik.

You can get the batik for this pattern from Batiks Etcetera and Sew What Fabrics.  They are stunning.

They are double chopped meaning patterns are layered on top of other patterns.

The colors are fiery and somewhat traditional to Indonesian batik.

If I were choosing batik for this design, I might substitute cheddar yellow.  But that is purely preference.

I think this floral batik from Timeless Treasures Tonga batik in Citron would be nice.

Or even good old Hoffman 1895 Buttercup Yellow or Cheddar.
